What’s Up With The Trailer

So what’s up with the trailer, you ask? Progress!

Prosperity Market turns one this year and we have been working steadily to bring our farmers market on wheels to life! In addition to running our monthly farmers market pop-ups and other innovative activations, we are creating a mobile farmers market which will house all of our amazing farmers and food entrepreneurs! That means we can bring our curated farmers market experience right to you! We are truly making it easy to support local, black businesses while also creating food access in our communities.

Episode Summary

In this episode we visit LA Stainless Kings to make a payment on our trailer! Also mentioned in this episode is the JLH Social Impact Fund, Fund Black Founders, and Crowdfund Better.

We received a grant from the JLH Social Impact Fund, created by Jrue & Lauren Holiday to support black entrepreneurs and change makers. What’s so special about JLH is that they truly set us up for success. Along with their generous financial contribution they also provided mentorship and support to 50 businesses and nonprofits through 2 incredible companies. https://www.jlhfund.org/

Fund Black Founders is a platform for black entrepreneurs to raise money for their business. Crowdfund Better is an organization that helps entrepreneurs prepare to raise money non-traditionally through crowdfunding. https://www.fundblackfounders.com/ https://www.crowdfundbetter.com/

Our First Year

Our First Year

Our First Year

What a year! 2021 showed us what happens when community gets behind you. Collectively we have done some pretty cool things. I mean, fed 6000+ people, supported 60+ black owned businesses, provided a platform for black farmers, and created fun initiatives that encouraged community support.

Episode Summary

In this episode we look back over our first year as Prosperity Market. We share our favorite moments, the challenges we’ve faced, the lessons learned, and what we are excited about for year two.

We created this series, “Road to Prosperity,” to give you a glimpse into Prosperity Market. Join us on the Road To Prosperity!

Episode Summary

Prosperity Market is turning one and it’s hard to believe that we have been at this for one full year! What a wild ride! We went from binge watching Netflix on our couches for most of 2020, to all of the sudden running a mobile farmers market featuring black farmers and entrepreneurs, that pops up all over Los Angeles. 2021 was one big, real-time case study for us. We like to think of it as our Beta year. We documented much of our progress and we want to share our journey with you.
